“I Miss My Friend God” published

A couple of years ago I wrote a personal essay, “I Miss My Friend God.” I was conflicted about my then recent loss of faith in God and the essay reflects the turmoil I experienced at the time. Writing the piece helped me to clarify my own thoughts and feelings on the matter.

Flash forward to more recent days, when I heard about an e-zine called The Eloquent Atheist, which is devoted to a rational exploration of atheism, agnosticism and various other -isms that make people uncomfortable. I remembered good old “I Miss My Friend God” and thought it might make a useful contribution to the ongoing discussion. To my delight, the piece was accepted and has just appeared in the e-zine.
